Serbian top seed Jelena Jankovic dispatched former champion Eleni Daniilidou to book her place in the semi-finals of the Auckland Classic.
The world number 12 showed no signs of the jet lag that hindered her earlier matches as she beat Daniilidou 6-3 6-4.
Jankovic faces Frenchwoman Camille Pin for a place in the final after Pin saw off compatriot Emilie Loit 6-3 6-3.
On the other side of the draw, American Jill Craybas meets Russian Vera Zvonareva in the other semi-final.
Craybas defeated Argentine veteran Paola Suarez 6-3 7-6 (7-4) to reach the last four in Auckland for the first time.
Zvonareva, the fifth seed, advanced after Frenchwoman Virginie Razzano retired with Zvonareva leading 7-5 2-0.
"Today was a great match, so many great points and Eleni played so good," said Jankovic.
