Baltacha out of USA match
Elena Baltacha has been troubled by injury
New British number one Elena Baltacha has been forced to pull out of the Under-20 team for the annual Maureen Connolly Trophy match against the USA in Bournemouth this week.
Baltacha, who reached the third round at this year's Wimbledon, has struggled to shake off a persistent viral infection and doctors have ordered her to rest. Her place has been taken by Emily Webley-Smith. Baltacha's coach, Alan Jones, said: "She has had a worrying 10 months, but now she is excited that we are getting to the root of the problems and she hopes to be back in action soon."
