Marks out of 10 for the England players, following their historic 25-14 victory over Australia in Melbourne.
Josh Lewsey: Devastating defence, characterised by a massive hit on Mat Rogers late in the game. Incisive presence entering the back line and a strong influence for England.
Jason Robinson: Solid again, without converting his ever-present threat into points.
Will Greenwood: Scored the first try and was the key in setting up Mike Tindall for the second. Always on the shoulder of England's runners.
Mike Tindall: A rock-like presence in midfield, both in attack and defence. Finished off a flowing England move for their second try.
Ben Cohen: Skinned Australian full-back Chris Latham for the match-winning try after a blistering turn of pace. Confirmed he is the world's most dangerous winger despite a strong claim from Australia's Wendell Sailor.
Jonny Wilkinson: The marshall-supreme. Slotted his kicks and maintained his defensive reputation. Two attempted cross-kicks gave away possession in the first half to tarnish his day. But not by much.
Kyran Bracken: A strong performance until substituted by Matt Dawson on 50 minutes. Spoiled George Gregan's service well and a constant fly in the ointment.
Trevor Woodman: A hugely satisfactory day's work at the coal face for the ball-carrying prop.
Steve Thompson: Played his usual dual role of front-line attacking runner and hard-working front-rower. A very real danger to Australia in all parts of the pitch.
Phil Vickery: A dynamo in the close exchanges, getting through an enormous amount of work.
Martin Johnson: The ultimate leader. Inspired England to victory with his own immense performance. England's man-of-the-match.
Ben Kay: Impressed in the loose with a number of forceful surges. Effective at the lineout as an alternative target to Martin Johnson.
Richard Hill: A quiet game for the big man but no less impressive for it. Substituted on 50 minutes for Joe Worsley.
Neil Back: Played the role of the openside flanker to full effect, buzzing around the park and making a nuisance of himself on the floor and in the loose.
Lawrence Dallaglio: Another consistently powerful performance as the former captain returns to the peak of his form.
Matt Dawson: Played the last half an hour in place of Kyran Bracken. No trademark sniping runs and took time to assert his influence.
Joe Worsley: Entered the fray in place of Richard Hill. Nothing dazzling, but did not let his side down and will continue to improve with the experience.
