Redpath to retire
Bryan Redpath has won 45 caps for Scotland
Scotland captain Bryan Redpath is to retire from international rugby after next year's World Cup.
The 31-year-old Sale Sharks scrum-half is on target to win his 50th cap during the Six Nations with 45 already to his credit. "The World Cup will probably be it, I can see that happening," Redpath told Scotland on Sunday. "There must be a time when you have to call it a day and I don't think I would like to spend the last few matches on the bench. "I don't want to be seen simply as a back-up player now. I also have three kids under five. "Internationally, you have three weeks in November, seven weeks in the Six Nations and, all in, it's probably 22 weeks - almost half-a-year. "My family's happiness is very important to me and, yes, I'm thinking that the World Cup should be the end, at least at international level."
