Clockwatch: Russia 3-35 Ireland
All the action from Krasnoyarsk as Ireland started their World Cup qualifying campaign with victory over Russia. The latest action comes first, please scroll down for earlier incidents. 80 mins: Reggie Corrigan given a yellow card following a high tackle, but the 14-man Ireland run down time to take victory. Full-time: Russia 3-35 Ireland 78 mins: Ireland take foot of the pedal as Russia charge forward and replacement fly-half Werner Pieterse rifles over a penalty. Russia 3-35 Ireland 74 mins: Irish coach Eddie O'Sullivan runs most of his bench including Shane Bryne replacing skipper Wood at hooker. 70 mins: A chip and chase by O'Driscoll almost brings Ireland's fifth try, but the Russian defence scrambles the ball clear. 66 mins: Ireland now on a roll and after yet another flowing move, Russia are penalised and O'Gara lands his third penalty. Russia 0-35 Ireland 61mins: O'Kelly claims his fourth try for Ireland following a line-out drive with O'Gara again converting. Russia 0-32 Ireland 60 mins: Russia begin to tire with Ireland continuing to dominate. 53 mins: Skipper Keith Wood crashes over after taking a pass from Kevin Maggs with O'Gara converting. Russia 0-25 Ireland 44 mins: Ireland still find Russia hard to break down as they continue to play the game inside the home side's half. 41 mins: Ireland start second half in a more determined mood, and O'Driscoll was just pulled down 15 metres short after a midfield break. 40 mins: Rachkov has a chance put Russia on the board but fails to find the accurancy from 40 metres. Half-time: Russia 0-18 Ireland 38 mins: Hickie makes a fine cover clearance as blindside flanker Viacheslav Grachev bears down on the Ireland line. 37 mins: Russia storm back unto the offensive, but a brilliant take under the high ball by Dempsey saves the danger. 32 mins: Volschenk was in trouble again with the referee after a dust-up with O'Driscoll, but Ireland fail to take advantage from a close-in line-out. 28 mins: Ireland continue their rivival with another try from Dempsey following a flowing movement started by Brian O'Driscoll. O'Gara converted from wide out. Russia 0-18 Ireland 25 mins: O'Gara again finds the target with another penalty when flanker Renier Volschenk fails to release the ball on his own 10-metre line. Russia 0-11 Ireland 24 mins: Lock Malcolm O'Kelly starts a long drive upfield for Ireland and good continuity sets up a position for O'Gara to knock over a penalty. Russia 0-8 Ireland 20 mins: Denis Hickie looked sharp in defending his line as the Russia pack drove over, and a huge punt by O'Gara relieved the danger. 18 mins: Russia pile forward again and Rachkov sees a dropped goal charged down by the alert Gary Longwell. 15 mins: Ireland break out from defence, but a promising move was spoiled by a spilled ball on the Russia ''22''. 14 mins: Ireland's line-out is failing as Russia keep up the pressure with big lock Sergei Sergeev leading his pack with venom. 10 mins: Russia are giving as good as they get in the forward exchanges with the big boot of Rachkov keeping Ireland pinned down. 7 mins: Rachkov puts over a drop goal, but referee Joel Jutge disallows the effort in preference for a penalty which the fly-half pulls wide. 4 mins: Russian fly-half Konstantin Rachkov puts in a long kick into corner to put his side on the offensive for the first time. 2 mins: Prop John Hayes features prominantly twice before Ronan O'Gara puts in a neat grubber kick for full-back Girvan Dempsey to swoop in at the corner for the opening try. Russia 0-5 Ireland 1 min: Russia kick off in front of a crowd much lower than the expected 25,000 capacity in the Centralny Stadium.
