The Kiwis comfortably disposed of South Africa 29-5 to claim their fifth win of the 11 game series.

The overall title was the third success for the Kiwis and was sealed with two matches left in the series.

They hold an unassailable 46-point lead over South Africa with Fiji a further six points behind.

England enjoyed a 43-7 victory against Argentina in wet conditions to secure the Plate, Scotland overcame Korea 41-12 for the Bowl and Japan defeated hosts Malaysia in the Shield.

Joe Rokocoko opened the scoring by running in from halfway before Anthony Tuitavake ran in from his own half.

Amasio Raoma converted both tries to give the Kiwis a 14-0 lead and he set up their third try for Chris Masoe to give them a decisive lead.

South Africa went close soon after the break, but Masoe pounced on a loose ball to send Raoma away for his second try.

Marius Schoeman got one back for South Africa, but Tuitavake rounded the win off in style for the Kiwis with his second try.

Coach Gordon Tietjens said the series win came as a suprise as his side was inexperienced at international level.

"We feel great. I didn't expect it, with such a new and young team.

"We're simply overjoyed. But we are still going to press for the two other tournaments," he said.

The IRB Series travels to Twickenham on 24-25 May and concludes at the Millennium Stadium a week later.
