Wasps' ground decision due
Wycombe Wanderers' ground, Adams Park
Wasps are planning to relocated to Adams Park
Wasps will find out on 20 May whether they will be allowed to play at Adams Park next season.

Wasps have a legally binding ground-share deal for the next two years with Wycombe Wanderers, but their plans were unexpectedly rejected last month by the local council.

It claimed there was no provision to play rugby at the 10,000-capacity stadium.

The clubs are in the process of providing more detailed evidence and now expect to receive the go-ahead next Monday.

Wasps have been forced out of Loftus Road for two seasons because Premiership football team Fulham are ground-sharing with QPR while their Craven Cottage home is renovated.

While the Wycombe plans have remained uncertain, Wasps have entered negotiations with league rivals Harlequins and Third Division football club Oxford United about a possible alternative.

But director Charles Levison is optimistic the Adams Park option will be successful.

"It was our number one choice and we are hopeful of a positive outcome from the council meeting on 20 May," he said.

  • Leicester have suspended back-row Adam Balding for 14 days following his dismissal against Bristol last Sunday.

Balding was sent off for the first time in his career at the Memorial Ground after a punch-up with prop Julian White, who was also shown the red card.

The pair are due to face a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel at Twickenham on Tuesday.
