Leuluai faces long injury lay-off

London Broncos scrum-half Thomas Leuluai could miss the rest of the season after breaking an ankle in three places against Warrington on Sunday.

The 20-year-old New Zealander is also a major doubt for the Tri-Nations Series, which starts in October.

Leuluai has made a big impact in his first Super League season, playing every league match apart from when on Test duty in April.

Broncos coach Tony Rea hopes to have him back in time for the play-offs.

"Tommy is a very talented and motivated player and he'll get himself back as soon as he can," said Rea.

Rea will now link skipper Mark McLinden with Luke Dorn in a new half-back pairing.

"We are not short on talent or leadership in the halves. It's now up to other players to take control," he said.

"Not too many would complain about having the likes of Dorn and McLinden at six and seven."
