Whitehaven were pushed hard by Batley but emerged victorious from their Northern Rail Cup game with a 52-30 win at the Recreation Ground on Sunday.
The Marras ran in nine tries, three for second-rower Andy Gorski, while stand-off Carl Rudd kicked six conversions.
Batley scored five tries in reply, with hooker George Flanaghan notching a try and three goals.
Next up for Ged Stokes' side is the re-scheduled trip to York City Knights in Pool Two on Wednesday.
