Workington Town's play-off hopes were severely dented by Sunday's 26-20 defeat to high-flying Keighley Cougars.
Wind and the sloping pitch at Cougar Park combined to blight their hopes in the first-half, Town going in 16-6 at the interval.
But, despite notching three tries in an improved second-half performance, Town were edged out by a gritty Keighley who added two of their own to seal the win.
Town now drop to eighth in National Two, 11 points off the play-offs.
