John Dixon, the head coach of new National League club Celtic Crusaders, returned to Wales this week after having surgery for prostate cancer.
The former Brisbane Broncos assistant coach was diagnosed with the illness and returned to Brisbane to undergo surgery just before Christmas.
Dixon said: "I am now fighting fit and glad to be back in Wales. I've come back to find the squad fit and strong.
"We're all looking forward to the start of the Northern Rail Cup next week."
The Bridgend-based Crusaders kick off their Cup campaign with an away match against Hemel Hempstead Stags on Sunday, 12 February.
