McGeechan coaches the Lions for a record third time in 1997 as famously win the series in South Africa 2-1
Scotland surprise England again in 2000, taking the Calcutta Cup and denying England the Grand Slam
McGeechan will replace Jim Telfer as the SRU's director of rugby after next year's World Cup in Australia
