Double century for Thorpe

 Mark Ramprakash almost follows Butcher to the pavilion as he just avoids a run out
 The relief is shortlived as Ramprakash becomes Chris Drum's second wicket of the innings
 England teeter at 106-5 before Thorpe and Flintoff come together and put on another 106 before lunch
 Flintoff more than makes up for his lack of bowling success by notching his first Test century
 Graham Thorpe picks up where he left off to finish the day, when England declare, on 200 not out
