Nicole Hosp proved too good for her rivals in Italy

Austria's Nicole Hosp stormed to victory in the World Cup giant slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, after an error by early leader Rienda Contreras.
Spain's Contreras had gone into the second run with a 0.35-second lead, but skied out midway down the course.
As a result, Hosp sealed the top spot with a combined time of two minutes 33.51 seconds.
Canada's Genevieve Simard did enough to finish in second, while Austria's Elisabeth Goergl completed the podium.
World Cup giant slalom leader Anja Paerson, of Sweden, fared less well and could only manage sixth place.
"The last time I won a GS was two years ago, so it was very important to win," said Hosp.
