Lee ends Ding hopes

Lee won the last four frames
Stephen Lee made a stunning comeback to end the dreams of Wembley debutant Ding Junhui, beating him 6-5.

Lee won the first but an 84 break and fluked red gave Ding the next two, then he took the fourth to go 3-1 ahead.

After Lee made it 3-2, breaks of 81 and 89 put the 16-year-old one frame away from a famous victory.

Lee won that on a respotted black and once Ding missed an easy pink in the next frame the balance shifted towards the Englishman, who went on to triumph.

He was understandably thrilled to have pulled off an amazing comeback, having trailed 5-2 at one point.

"He was full of confidence and I've got absolutely none," said Lee. "I thought I was out but if I could get near him at 5-5, he couldn't win.

"He looked stronger as the game went on but if I could nick one frame at a time, he might miss - and he did.

"I'm not worried about anything but getting a run of wins."
