ABN Amro One clinches port race
ABN Amro One
ABN Amro One is the overall Volvo Ocean Race leader
ABN Amro One increased its overall lead in the Volvo Ocean Race by winning the in-port race at Guanabara Bay in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday.

The Dutch yacht, winner of the fourth and longest leg two weeks ago, finished the race in two hours 26 minutes.

Spain's movistar was over two minutes back and Sweden's Ericsson Racing Team was four minutes behind the leader.

The win extended ABN Amro One's lead to 52.5 points in the overall standings, 16 more than ABN Amro Two.

Local favourite Brasil 1 was fourth in the Saturday's race, five minutes behind the leader, followed by ABN Amro Two and American yacht Pirates of the Caribbean.

"Without a doubt we expected a better finish here," said Brasil 1's Alan Adler. "We took too many risks and ended paying for that at the end."

The Volvo Ocean Race began in Vigo, northwest Spain on 12 November and is set to end in Gothenburg, Sweden around 17 June.
