Worthing Thunder owner Frank Gainsbury says the club are pleased to start life in the BBL with two home fixtures.
They begin with a game against old rivals the Plymouth Raiders, before facing league champions Newcastle.
Gainsbury told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "Plymouth is a really good game for us. It's a club we've locked swords with in the EBL.
"We'll have a measure of where we stand after the first two games. Newcastle is really is a tough fixture."
The Thunder are busy recruiting for their first BBL season, with Gainsbury saying their choice of overseas player is key: "We've got a good base of local players but it is a step up from the EBL.
"The overseas players are an area where we think that strength can come from."
