Detroit beat Orlando 97-93 to complete a 4-0 sweep and power their way into the NBA play-offs second round.
The Pistons, the 2004 NBA champions and top seeds in the East, posted their first four-game sweep in 18 years.
"We kept a good focus. We swept the series but by no means was it easy - they definitely didn't give it to us," said head coach Flip Saunders.
Detroit now await the winners of the series between Chicago and defending champions Miami. The Bulls lead 3-0.
Orlando looked like they might take Detroit to a fifth game when they led 85-80 after a Grant Hill dunk with 3:18 to play in Florida.
But the visitors gathered themselves with a time-out and took charge with a 9-1 run sparked by a Rasheed Wallace three-pointer.
Pistons backcourt duo Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton combined to make six free throws in the final 20 seconds to seal the victory.
