Turin Games budget gets approval

The Turin Games will be held in February 2006
The Turin Winter Olympics committee board has ended a financial dispute by approving the Games' $1.38bn budget.

The committee faced a deficit of almost £100m after sponsorship deals fell through but the gap will be filled by public money.

A separate committee will be set up for the Paralympics, which spares the main committee the cost of hosting them.

The Games take place from 10-26 February with a test of facilities being staged in November.
