Michele Verroken has stepped down as Britain's leading anti-doping chief
following a shake-up at UK Sport.
Verroken had been on leave since a meeting on 5 December when it is thought she was asked to resign by UK Sport chairman Sue Campbell.
Campbell's reorganisation of UK Sport also led to chief executive Richard Callicott leaving the body.
It is thought that Verroken had been negotiating a pay-off since that date and that terms have now been agreed.
UK Sport released a statement from Campbell saying:
"Michele has made a significant contribution to the fight for drug-free sport
in the UK and she leaves with our thanks and best wishes for the future."
John Scott, UK Sport's director of international relations and major events
will continue to be acting director of drug-free sport until a business review
of UK Sport is completed.
