Steelers held by Knights

Superleague leaders Sheffield Steelers were held to a 1-1 draw by London Knights in Docklands on Tuesday.

London out-shot the Steelers 12-9 in the opening period. Nevertheless, they fell behind after a close range powerplay effort from Jason Sessa.

Knights drew level six minutes into the second period.

Mo Mansi fired a slapshot from the blue line, which beat Sheffield goalie Joel Laing high to his stick side.

At 33:15 Mark Kolesar thought he had put London ahead but his wide open shot hit the goalie's pads.

A Mo Mansi hooking call with 51 seconds left in the game put London in late penalty trouble but the home side held firm to force overtime.

Both goalies put in valiant performances and were awarded the two man-of-the-match awards for their efforts.
