Lao dives into the lead
Chinese diver Lao Lishi dives during the 10m platform semi-final
China's Lao Lishi has moved into the lead in the women's Olympic 10m platform diving competition after the hotly-contested semi-finals.

Lao carries a score of 203.04 forward to Sunday's final ahead of compatriot Li Ting with 198.33 while Australia's Chantelle Newbery held third on 198.30.

Australian Loudy Tourky had the best score after the preliminaries but only semi-final marks are carried forward.

Defending champion Laura Wilkinson made a shaky start but now lies in fourth.

The American finished in 10th place in the semis but was fourth overall and booked her place among the 12 finalists.

"I'm excited," said Wilkinson, who is suffering from an injury to her tricep.

"I'm glad to be in the final and to have a second chance."

Ukrainian veteran Olena Zhupina, who had led after the preliminary heats, dropped back to 10th.
