The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced the men's and women's pools for the Athens Olympics.

The British men's team, who have not missed an Olympics since 1980, will have to battle past Egypt, Germany, South Korea, Pakistan and Spain.

Britain finished fifth in March's qualifying tournament, while Spain came second and Pakistan third.

Britain's female hockey team failed to qualify despite being the top-ranked side at the Olympic qualifying event.

The Netherlands, the defending Olympic champions and winners of the men's qualifying tournament, are in the second pool.


Men:
Pool A - Egypt, Germany, Britain, South Korea, Pakistan, Spain

Pool B - Argentina, Australia, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa *

Women:
Pool A - Argentina, China, Japan, New Zealand, Spain

Pool B - Australia, Germany, South Korea, Netherlands, South Africa
