Denmark edge out Spain
Rikke Hoerlykke Joerensen of Denmark scores against Spain
Two-times champions Denmark held off a late rally from Spain to win 23-21 in Group B of the women's handball event.

Denmark jumped to a 14-8 first-half lead before allowing Spain to come within two points at the end.

South Korea won their first match in three attempts when they overcame Angola 40-30.

In Group A, Ukraine triumphed 21-19 over Brazil to go joint top with Hungary and China beat bottom-placed Greece 33-13 for their first victory.
