Meares grabs cycling gold
Anna Meares wins gold in the cycling
Meares won Australia their second cycling gold of the Games
Australia's Anna Meares set a new world record on her way to Olympic gold in the women's 500m cycling time trial.

The 20-year-old became the first women to go under 34 seconds when she clocked 33.952 secs in the velodrome on Friday.

China's Yonghua Jiang, who previously held the world record at 34.000 secs, clinched silver while Natallia Tsylinskaya of Belarus won bronze.

Great Britain's Victoria Pendleton set a new national record time of 34.626 secs finishing in sixth place.
