Nigeria net landmark win
Mfon Udoka of Nigeria
Nigeria beat South Korea 68-64 to become the first African women's basketball team to win a match at the Olympic Games.

Nigeria had lost their first five matches in Athens but they beat the Koreans to claim 11th place overall.

Former Houston Comets forward Mfon Udoka was Nigeria's star with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Zaire (now the DR Congo) were the first African team to play in the Olympics in 1996 while Senegal competed in Sydney in 2000.

But neither were able to register a victory.
