Japan coach stays at home
Shigeo Nagashima
Nagashima suffered a stroke in March
Japan's Olympic baseball team manager Shigeo Nagashima, who has been recovering from a stroke, has decided not to go to Athens.

Nagashima had wanted to travel with the players, but was advised against it by his doctors and family.

"They thought he shouldn't go because of the long flight and the scorching heat in Athens," said Japan Olympic official Koji Kinoshita.

Japan head coach Kiyoshi Nakahata has replaced Nagashima.
