Olympic semi-finalist Lee McConnell has broken the Scottish indoor 300metre record with a run of 37.57seconds.
The 26-year-old Glaswegian was competing in a low-key match for Loughborough University in Birmingham.
McConnell said: "I just wanted to see what sort of shape I was in - and I was quite pleased.
"I didn't find it that comfortable running indoors - I haven't done it since I was a kid. I'm not planning any other races at the moment."
McConnell's run was the second fastest ever recorded by a Briton.
But the Commonwealth silver-medallist, who finished last in her 400m semi-final in Athens, does not expect to make a habit of competing indoors.
She added: "I definitely don't want to do the individual race at the Europeans. But I would do the relay, depending on who else they take.
"I think the selectors will only take a 4x400m team if they think they have a chance of a medal anyway."
