Brugnetti wins 20km walk
Italy's Ivano Brugnetti won the men's 20km walk gold medal in a personal best time of 1hr 19.40min.

Brugnetti held off Spain's Francisco Javier Fernandez as he pulled clear for gold in the final 400 metres.

The pair had pulled clear of the rest of the field at half-way, joined by Australian Nathan Deakes who eventually took the bronze medal.

Brugnetti's stamina proved key as his second-half split was two seconds quicker than the first.
