"To finish the year like this is amazing," said the Commonwealth Games silver medallist.
"In May, I picked up an Achilles problem in America - it was so bad I couldn't run 50 metres.
"I flew back to Britain to get treatment but on my return to training, I tore my hamstring."
Danvers 'thrilled beyond measure'
Danvers was beaten by Perri Shakes-Drayton, 19, in the Olympic trials, but the selectors kept faith with the veteran.
"The selectors knew what the doctors were seeing and they knew I was a championship performer," she said.
Meanwhile, Walker was delighted with her gold-medal winning performance that came just moments after compatriot Usain Bolt won the men's 200m in a world-record time.
"I wanted to be victorious," she told BBC Sport. "Jamaica is so small. Everybody should be happy and I'm happy too."
