Cavan started their McKenna Cup campaign with a comfortable win over neighbours Monaghan at Breffni Park.
Cavan were totally dominant in the first half and led 0-9 to 1-2 at the break with Eoin Duffy scoring the Monaghan goal after 30 minutes.
The introduction of Thomas Freeman midway through the second half boosted Monaghan and the All Star put over three points.
Cavan were never in danger and Jason O'Reilly starred with four points.
