Braniff blow for Down
Down hurler Paul Braniff
Paul Braniff picked up the knee injury in New York last weekend
Down hurlers have suffered a huge blow ahead of next weekend's Guinness Ulster Final against Antrim with the news that Paul Braniff will be out for 12 months.

Braniff sustained a cruciate ligament injury in last weekend's semi-final win over New York in the Big Apple.

The Jordanstown student has emerged as a huge talent over the last two years and his absence is a big blow for Down.

Braniff hit three goals in Down's recent National Hurling League Division Two Final win over Westmeath.
