Giants end losing run
Kevin Riehl scored Belfast Giant's second goal on Friday
Belfast Giants 3-2 Bracknell Bees
Champions Belfast Giants ended a four-game losing Superleague run with Friday night's hard-fought 3-2 victory over Bracknell Bees at the Odyssey Arena. Giants, who face a must-win Challenge Cup tie with Sheffield Steelers on home ice on Saturday evening, took the lead through Curt Bowen. Kevin Riehl (powerplay) doubled their advantage but goals from Joe Ciccarello and Dan Ceman hauled Bracknell level. However, Japan international Ryan Kuwabara's grabbed the game-winning goal with 11 minutes left to end Belfast's miserable run. It also left bottom-of-the-table Bracknell with just one win now in 19 league games. |
