Super Corser clinches Brno pole
Championship leader Troy Corser
World Superbike Championship leader Troy Corser enjoyed a successful return to Brno on Saturday when he claimed pole position for Sunday's race.

The Australian, who won the last time the series visited the Czech Republic circuit in 1996, set the pace with a lap time of two minutes, 2.964 seconds.

Reigning champion Briton James Toseland and his Ducati were 0.5 seconds back.

Honda's Max Neukirchner and Corser's closest rival Chris Vermeulen were third and fourth respectively.

Vermeulen's team-mate Karl Muggeridge was fifth, ahead of Chris Walker.

Nottingham rider Walker, who competes for PSG-1 Kawasaki, had set the pace in regular qualifying but was unable to reproduce that form over one lap in superpole and will line up in sixth.

Garry McCoy was the only Foggy Petronas rider to reach superpole and he earned a 12th-place start, while team-mate Steve Martin finished in 14th.
