Lanzi takes chance to seize pole

Lanzi made the most of his first start on a factory bike
Rookie Lorenzo Lanzi took advantage of his first ride on a factory bike to claim pole position for the World Superbike races at Lausitzringin.

Lanzi, in for the injured Xerox Ducati rider Regis Laconi, set the qualifying standard in one minute 39.019 seconds.

Australian Troy Corser was second and Chris Vermeulen, a double race winner in Assen last week, was third fastest.

Britain's 2004 world champion and Xerox Ducati man James Toseland was fourth with 1min 40.053secs.
