McIlroy into Irish Close decider

Rory McIlroy won the West of Ireland earlier this year

Holywood teenage sensation Rory McIlroy is through to the final of the Irish Amateur Close Championship at Westport.
The 16-year-old Sullivan Upper schoolboy defeated fellow Ulsterman Connor Doran from Banbridge in the first semi-final by 4 and 3.
McIlroy will now face Galway's Eddie McCormack in the final after he defeated Angus McAllister 3 and two.
McIlroy has already pocketed the West of Ireland title at Rosses Point earlier this season.
