Me and my big mouth
Pat Cash
Cash is ready to put on a dress
Former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash has pledged to wear one of Sue Barker's dresses if Tim Henman wins this year's tournament.

The Australian, who won the men's title in 1987, does not believe Henman is playing well enough to topple the likes of Lleyton Hewitt.

But recent history has shown Cash's words may come back to haunt him.

In May, BBC football expert Mark Lawrenson was forced to end a 25-year-love affair with his moustache after Bolton Wanderers avoided relegation from the Premiership.

Bolton's escape did everyone a favour

Lawro was so sure they'd go down he put his lip rug up as collateral - not ever imagining he would lose his investment.

Still, when it finally came off, at least he was man enough to admit he'd done everyone a favour - let's just hope he doesn't pledge to grow it back if West Brom stay up.

The mullet-like locks of former England star Rodney Marsh became another casualty after he confidently predicted the demise of Bradford City in 1999.

Instead of Division One drop, it was number one crop for Marsh - live on TV in the centre circle of Valley Parade.

Bradford duly went down the following season, although Marsh had already decided to play it safe.

But surely the most embarrassing of the lot has to be dear old Bernie Slaven, who literally made a right a*** of himself when writing off former club Middlesbrough.

The striker-turned-pundit was convinced Boro had no chance of beating Manchester United at Old Trafford in 1998.

So much so, he promised to bare his backside in a Middlesbrough shop window if the unthinkable happened.

It did, he did and the Boro diehards admitted it was the best entertainment they'd seen in years.

Mr Cash, you have been warned. All together now, "Come on Tim!"
