A day that provided a couple of unexpected results, with Paraguay holding champions Italy and Japan beating Cameroon. Here's my Fifa 2010 World Cup finals team of the day for Monday 14 June:
Made a couple of decent saves and, unlike others during this tournament, didn't put a foot wrong.
Won his 100th cap and was always cool under pressure.
One half of a great partnership with Yuji Nakazawa.
Kept the Cameroon onslaught at bay with his mate Nakazawa.
Steady display helped the Italians rescue a draw.
Brought the world champions back from the brink, scoring the equaliser against Paraguay.
Changed the game the moment he came on against Denmark with a lively substitute appearance.
Historic goal - Japan's first in a World Cup outside their own country - capped an excellent individual performance.
Just ran the show for his side and again looked a class act.
Never stopped running. If anyone deserved a simple tap in on the rebound it was him.
Great goal that left Group F wide open.
