England women face Nigeria
England women coach Hope Powell
Powell is keen to avenge the 2002 defeat to Nigeria
England's women's team will face Nigeria next month as they step up their preparations for Euro 2005.

The friendly will take place at the Madejski Stadium on 22 April in a repeat of the 2002 friendly, which England lost 1-0.

England coach Hope Powell said: "Nigeria were a hard test for us 18 months ago. It is our ambition to pit ourselves against strong teams."

England go into the game on the back of a 2-0 win over Denmark.

The English are now ranked 13th in Fifa's world rankings, with Nigeria further down the list in 24th.

The two sides have played just twice before, England winning the first encounter 3-2 at the 1995 World Cup.
