Pulis has added 10 new faces since promotion to the Premier League

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis says he is pleased with the three signings he made on transfer deadline day.

Sunderland defender Danny Higginbotham and midfielders Tom Soares and Michael Tonge have joined the Premier League new boys.

Pulis told BBC Radio Stoke: "We are very pleased to get Danny back because we've been chasing him for a while.

"I was surprised to hear that Tom was available so we moved quickly and Tonge is a player I've always liked."

Pulis has now recruited 10 new faces to aid the Potter's bid for Premier League survival and has spent around £20m but says their were still some deals he missed out on.

"We had a lot of targets and managed to get three of them," he said.

"We had two or three other deals that we trying to get through, bigger deals that what we've done but unfortunately we weren't able to pull them off.

"It's a bit disappointing because we has some deals in place that might have surprised a few people but they fell through, which is unfortunate."

One of those deals concerned Cardiff midfielder Joe Ledley, whose £6m move was rejected.
