Rohi Dayan played in four pre-season friendlies for St Mirren

St Mirren have dropped their interest in Israeli striker Rohi Dayan after it emerged that his previous club, Maccabi Tel Aviv, would be seeking a fee.
Buddies boss Gus MacPherson said: "The deal to bring Roy Dayan to St Mirren is dead. It has fallen through.
"We were lead to believe that his Israeli club would be prepared to release him from his compensation."
MacPherson was left angry at the player's agent, who he believes has held back his team-building plans.
Dayan, who came through the Maccabi youth system to become an Israel Under-21 international, made only four starts last season but impressed on trial.

"There is absolutely nothing that the club could do about the situation - one in which we have been so badly mislead," the St Mirren told his club website.
"We wasted a lot of time in trying to bring Dayan to Love Street, so we'll have to turn our attentions elsewhere and start to move quickly."
MacPherson recently dropped his interest in Mamadou Seck after the Sheffield United defender played as a trialist in a pre-season game against Dumbarton.
