Brass, 30, could opt to make the move permanent when the January transfer window opens.
The former Burnley defender had been on loan at Harrogate Town after starting over 150 games for York.
He follows Doncaster's Adriano Rigoglioso and Crewe defender Mark Roberts in joining Port, who have loaned Farrell Kilbane to Stalybridge.
