Southend United have completed the signing of the versatile Lewis Hunt, report BBC Essex.
The 21-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Roots Hall from Derby and manager Steve Tilson was keen to make the move permanent.
And, despite interest from other clubs, Hunt has agreed to join the Blues for next season.
Hunt came through the ranks at Derby and, although he is a midfielder, he can play in a number of positions.
Meanwhile, midfielder Che Wilson has signed a new contract.
The 25-year-old has not been a regular at Roots Hall after joining from Bristol Rovers last summer, but has agreed a new one-year contract.
