Brunt said in June he was happy to stay at Hillsborough

Sheffield Wednesday have called off negotiations with Chris Brunt over a new deal, reports BBC Radio Sheffield.
The Northern Ireland international, 22, only has a year left on his contract and was in talks after the Owls rejected a bid from Fulham in June.
But negotiations have broken down between Brunt and the Hillsborough club due to his excessive wage demands.
Meanwhile, USA defender Frankie Simek has signed a new deal that will take him through until 2010.

"We made Chris an extremely good offer," Owls chief executive Kaven Walker said.
"But his representatives put a proposal to Sheffield Wednesday that is a long way out of our scope.
"He will remain a Wednesday player until the end of next season, but negotiations are now closed. We don't want to sell Chris - we want to get to the Premiership with Chris."
