Donaldson has signed for the Seasiders on a month's loan and goes into the squad for Saturday's visit of Burton Albion.
The 19-year-old caught Slade's eye during a pre-season friendly and will provide support up front for summer signing Mark Quayle.
Donaldson made three substitute appearances for the Tigers last season, scoring once in the LDV Vans Trophy.
