The 24-year-old has agreed a deal that will keep him at the Berkshire club until 2008, despite making only three Carling Cup appearances.
Royals director of football Nicky Hammond said: "He's been a positive influence around the squad.
"He has settled very quickly and has been terrific since he arrived."
