Kilkenny, 19, joined the Latics in November and has since scored five times in eight starts.
He told Oldham's website: "I think we've got a chance of making the play-offs. It's the number-one priority."
Oldham boss Brian Talbot is also in talks with on-loan Spurs midfielder Mark Hughes about extending his stay at Boundary Park.
