Luke Chadwick may have to undergo surgery on his shoulder.
The Norwich winger, 27, has been plagued by shoulder problems throughout his career and dislocated a joint during a recent reserve match.
Norwich's reserve-team boss Paul Stephenson told the club's website: "It's unfortunate for the lad.
"What he needs is to work on his rehab - whatever he needs. Does he need an operation or does he need to strengthen it? We'll take it from there."
