The club's plan to again groundshare with Dover had been rejected by the Conference's board of directors.
And, after ratification of Margate's directors, there was an "overwhelming majority" in favour of the move.
If confirmed, Leigh RMI will stay in the Conference and Kettering will move into the Conference North.
