Man Utd will not rush Solskjaer
Manchester United's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says he will not rush Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's return after more than a year out with a knee injury.

The 32-year-old last played in the 2004 FA Cup final and had been tipped to play in Saturday's Premiership opener at Everton but this now seems unlikely.

"He is doing decent training but we are not rushing him - the important thing is to get him back," said Ferguson.

"Hopefully when he is back it won't be for a moment but for a good period."

If United can build up a decent first-leg lead in their Champions League qualifier against Debrecen on Tuesday, Solskjaer may even be considered for the return tie in Budapest on 24 August.

United have three reserve team fixtures before then, including games against Liverpool and Manchester City, in which the Norwegian striker could earn valuable match practice.
